musk by alyssa ashley
I was born in New York in 1968, in a period of big ferment and change that marked my destiny and shaped my character. In those years words such as independence, female emancipation, freedom guided the movements of young people whose focus was oriented towards the future of their generation and the planet. They were the flower children, the hippies who in recent years rediscovered and made the world rediscover the beauty of contact with nature, the heady power of its elements and their benefits.

The world: constant olfactory inspiration

Experiences gave birth to my perfumes: the Hippies of the 70s with their appeals to the east and to its millenary wisdom which explode in hints of Musk and in the persistence of Patchouli, the sunny beaches of summer holidays are transformed into vanilla cuddles sprinkled with coconut and the most tender childhood memories become liquid inside the powdered bottles of White Musk.

The daughter of art
I was destined for art, and it flows through my veins, guiding me to search for beauty, in all its forms. My father was Enrico Donati, an Italian artist belonging to the surrealist movement, and also an experimenter by birth, influenced by the important creative cycle that between the 1940s and 1960s had seen Andre Breton and Marcel Duchamp emerge. My father was married twice, and the second time was with the last heir of the historic perfumery house Houbigant, founded in Paris in 1775 and a big part of the history of perfumery especially for its ability to experiment and innovate.

I was born between art and raised for art, my fragrances are the result of my family's wise perfumery art, inspired by nature and earth, mixed with the material element of everyday objects which can also be found in my father's works.

Oggi

The artistic and multisensory imprint of the early years still pervades the creations, and the connection with memory is linked to constant research. I interpreted the love for nature celebrated by hippies in the 60s in the new BIOLAB collection that loves and respects the planet and all the creatures that compose it, I never get tired of being surprised by new olfactory notes such as Marijane's hemp. Experimentation, research, passion. These are the stimuli that move me in my artistic creations
